Our Favorite Things 2012

The Amazing Lily Pad is, by far, our best seller of the year.  Available in four sizes, it is a self-sealing silicone lid.  It can be used in the oven, micowave (yes, really) dishwasher and freezer.  That just about covers it.

Christine loves this baker.  This is meant for showing off!  Wouldn't your lasagne or favorite casserole want to be here?  Available in a variety of colors and sizes.  Made by BIA so is safe  in oven, microwave, dishwasher and freezer.  Affordably priced - the 3 quart size is $27.50 Cook with Style!

These little bowls are as adorable as they seem.  At $23 for a set of six, they have brought smiles to many new owners.

Popovers

"Foolproof Popovers"

1 cup milk
1 cup flour
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 cold greased cups in popover pan

Put all ingredients in mixing bowl.  Stir with a spoon until what's dry is moist.  Disregard lumps.  Pour into cold greased popover pan, filling half full.  Place in cold oven.  Set the oven for 450 degrees and the time for 30 minutes.  Don't peek.  When the bell rings, serve your glorious popovers to startled guests.

Yield:  6
Bake:  30 minutes at 450 degrees

A nod from Cook's Illustrated

Our favorite (and only) Pressure Cooker received the coveted, "Highly Recommended" review in their latest issue.  Jan/Feb 2012
An excerpt from the article titled, "Why you Should Buy a Pressure Cooker"
You don't have to tell a soul that your savory, fork-tender pot roast, pulled pork, short ribs, or stew cooked in record time - and most of that time was hands-off.  Dried beans are creamy and tender...Risotteneeds just 6 minutes under pressre to reach the perfect consistency.
